DROUGHT CONDITIONS AND WATER QUALITY- This year's better than average rainfall has provided some short term relief to the upper aquifer system. The increase in water available to the upper aquifer system has allowed us to begin operating our water treatment plant again. Customers should have noticed improved water quality in your taps as a result of the treatment plant process running. It is important to note that we are categorizing this as short term relief. Without multiple consecutive wet years, the relief we are experiencing today will be short lived. Customers need to continue to conserve where possible. The District's Stage 2 Drought Restrictions will remain in place for the foreseeable future. Stage 2 restrictions require among other things, the prohibition of hosing down of hard or paved surfaces & limiting outdoor watering to 2 days per week through sprinkler systems.
